The Motivational and Value Principles of the Concert Project

in the Modern Musical Education (Exemplified by Dnipro Academy of Music)

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to identify the motivational and value foundations of the concert project form through the analysis of several distinctive and original examples implemented at the Dnipro Academy of Music during the 2022–2024 academic years.

Among the research methods applied are analysis and synthesis, comparative and axiological approaches, as well as empirical methods such as observation and generalization. Of particular im- portance in this study is the structural-functional method.

The novelty of the research lies primarily in the absence of previous studies devoted to the spe- cific features of the concert project form, especially within the contemporary educational process of the Dnipro Academy of Music.

Conclusions. The analysis of concert projects at the Dnipro Academy of Music has revealed several key motivational and value foundations of this form, namely:

– the absence of traditional grading or evaluative equivalents in assessing students’ performance skills;

– the development of students’ timbre perception through participation in multi-timbral ensemble groups, enabling a wide palette of timbral and coloristic sound combinations;

– the opportunity for students to design thematic concert cycles that promote deeper understanding of a composer’s creative legacy;

– the potential to expand the audience of creative events, unlike traditional academic report concerts held during examination periods;

– the creative and organizational openness of the concert project form, which makes it capable of generating other artistic formats such as concert reconstructions, lecture-concerts, concert presentations, and similar hybrid forms.
