Procedure for recognition of translation

The editors do everything necessary for the review to be qualitative, honest, impartial and timely. The review procedure (scientific expertise) passes all articles submitted to the editorial board, except for reviews on scientific works and communications of information nature.

The editorial board of the yearbook of scientific papers has determined the following procedure for reviewing manuscripts:

  1. The author submits to the editorial board an article that meets the requirements of the policy of the annual collection of scientific works “Ukrainian Art Studies: Materials, Investigations, Reviews” and the requirements for articles. Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements are not registered and are not allowed for further consideration, of which the editorial board notifies the authors.
  2. The editorial board sends the submitted article (without specifying the author’s name) to two selected reviewers. Reviewers of manuscripts can be both members of the editorial board of the scientific yearbook and external highly qualified specialists who have deep professional knowledge and experience in specific research areas and do not have any conflict of interest.
  3. Reviewers are appointed by the editor-in-chief of the annual collection of scientific works “Ukrainian Art Studies: Materials, Investigations, Reviews”. In some cases, the issue of selecting reviewers is resolved at a meeting of the editorial board. The review process is organized by the responsible secretary of the publication.
  4. After obtaining the consent of the scientist who is to carry out the “blind” review, he conducts a scientific examination of the relevant manuscript, as a rule, within 21 days. The review period may vary in each individual case, taking into account the creation of conditions for the most objective assessment of the quality of the materials provided.
  5. Interaction between the author and reviewers occurs through their correspondence by e-mail with the executive secretary of the annual collection of scientific works “Ukrainian Art Studies: Materials, Investigations, Reviews”.
  6. If the reviewer indicates the need to make certain corrections to the article, the article is sent to the author with a proposal to take into account the comments when preparing an updated version of the article or to refute them with arguments. The author adds a message to the revised article that contains responses to all comments and explains all changes made to the article. The corrected version is resubmitted to the reviewer for a decision and preparation of a motivated conclusion on the possibility of publishing the article. The date of recommendation of the article for publication is considered the date of receipt by the editorial board of a positive conclusion from the reviewer regarding the possibility and appropriateness of publishing the article.
  7. In case of disagreement with the reviewer's opinion, the author of the manuscript has the right to provide a reasoned response to the editorial board of the yearbook. In such circumstances, the article is considered at a meeting of the editorial board. The editorial board may send the article for additional or new review to another specialist. The editorial board reserves the right to reject the article in case of the author's inability or unwillingness to take into account the recommendations and comments of the reviewers.
  8. The final decision on the possibility and expediency of publication is made by the editor-in-chief in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers or (in the case of consideration of the article by the editorial board) the editorial board. After making a decision on the admission of the article to publication, the responsible secretary of the yearbook informs the author about this.
  9. After the decision to publish the article is made, the manuscript is sent for literary and technical editing. Interaction between the author and the literary (technical) editor can take place in any form – In person, by e-mail, by phone.
  10. The editorial office of the scientific publication reserves the right to shorten the text, while preserving its content and author's style, as well as with the obligatory approval of all changes made by the author. Minor corrections of a stylistic or formal nature that do not affect the content of the article are made by the literary (technical) editor without approval from the author.
  11. The recommendation for the publication of the next issue of the yearbook is made by the Academic Council of the M. T. Rylskyi Institute of Art Studies, Folkloristics and Ethnology of the NAS of Ukraine and is recorded in the relevant protocol.
